Swimwear is hitting stores and I don't see any point in waiting til you need a new suit to actually get one. Rachel Comey has a small but perfect collection of suits, all well done and sure to become permanent swim staples.

One thing that always seems to look good with just a swimsuit and a tan is pieces of delicate gold and possibly diamond jewelry. It adds a second stage of hot to the suit.

If you are still hesitant about buying a suit at such an early point in the game, do what I always did when I was a kid and didn't want to jump into the freezing cold swimming pool:
One for the money, Two for the show, Three to get ready, and Four to go!

Sometimes Its Good To Be A Sale

Ann Demeulemeester "Victoria" Jacket - On Sale For $710.18 at LN-CC
Buy it Here

Alexander Wang "Leather Mini Skirt" - $292.25 at The Outnet
Buy it Here

Gianvito Rossi "Ankle Strap Pump" - $670 at Barneys
Buy it Here

Melissa Joy Manning "Triple Diamond Ring" - $2,500 at Melissa Joy Manning
Buy it Here

If you love Ann Demeulemeester, you have to check out LN-CC. They have fresh new A.D. as well as some really great sale pieces. This jacket, for instance, is one of the best pieces you could possibly splurge on as an investment in your closet. The lightweight nature of it will carry you through pretty much any season, minus scorching heat. Imagine it even in the winter under a high-collared black heavy coat! Plus, the design is something that won't ever seem wrong. It has such grace and elegance amidst the seeming chaos. That what this designer is so good at.

Another sale piece that would work perfectly with this is the Alexander Wang leather mini at The Outnet. This is another piece that really ends up being a steal, as you will most likely far exceed your fair share of wears. Add satin pumps that, though sadly not on sale, add the perfect touch of genuine starlet sexiness to the look. Another worthy investment.

And I Quote

Tom Binns "Black Pave Quote Earrings" - $250 at The Webster
Buy it Here

Lena Wald "Letter Earring" - $2oo each at Lena Wald
Buy it Here

3.1 Phillip Lim "Cut-Out Back Pullover" - $425 at Kirna Zabete
Buy it Here

Acne Studios "Norma" Skirt - $250 at Acne Studios
Buy it Here

Balmain "Anna" Bootie - $1.130 at The Webster
Buy it Here

The rest are slightly minor players to these funny Tom Binns quote earrings. Cute enough if you only have single holes (because then the quote is - YOU!) but better and better if you have multiple holes in each ear and can get some initials or, even better, full words out in between the quotes. Even a texty message like "FU" or "WTF".

Speaking of cut-up (come on, Cut - It - Out; I am shameless) how about this rad 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater. I think I mentioned it before, but lightweight sweaters like this are such the perfect Spring piece because of the often slightly cool days in which you might want to be warmish up top whilst your legs are screaming to breathe. Keep toes a little warm too with canvas booties from Balmain.

What would you put in between the quotes?

I'm Such A Pinner

And now I am on Pinterest! I have a separate Board set up called "Fashion Gatherer Items" and you can find everything from all my posts (starting today that is) and share/repin!

Here's the link

Enjoy!

One Teaspoon "Original Bonitas" Shorts - $85.95 on eBay
Buy it Here

Rebecca Minkoff "Lizard Embossed Jaunt Stilettos" - $350 at Rebecca Minkoff
Buy it Here

Repossi "Black Gold & Diamond Berbere Ring" - $17,125 at Barneys
Buy it Here

Ha! I ordered these One Teaspoon Shorts last week on eBay and they are already shipping to me! You can get yours too, HERE. Did I mention my love for this brand? Yes, I know I have - too often I'll wager!

Pair these ones with anything, but with these fluctuating, in-between-kind-of days I would recommend a sweater as a good bet. And I think Alexander Wang seems to have really nailed it in that department. The details in the geometric lines along with the electric blue trim makes for something you won't easily be able to resist. And I think a little bit of snake (even if it's fake) goes a long way; Rebecca Minkoff's new heeled sandals rocked that reptile. Repossi has the black gems that wouldn't ever come off your finger if you could stand to buy this ring instead of a new car.

Summer is only an 80% humidity change away!

What is dark, black, and bright as day?
Every piece in this look, that's what. Each item is luminous in it's beauty. If black could glow, this is what it would look like.

The top and bottom come from different houses but unite for a look that is not really of this era, and yet, perhaps a touch too anti-prude to be from any other time but now. The shoes are wild and hot and there is no other way to describe them. If they weren't the price of a small pony, I would command you all to buy them immediately. And then the clutch kind of ties together the striking cleanness of the clothes and the overboard lethalness of the shoes in one small, stellar package.

How Quickly Things Change

Zara "Sandal With Ankle Straps" - $99.90 at Zara
Buy it Here

RGB Cosmetics "Dew" Nail Polish - $16 at RGB
Buy it Here

The funny thing is that I don't even really love pastel colors and yet I am finding myself drawn to a soft minty green lately. Yesterday I posted about a new nail color from RGB, called Dew, which is just such a shade, and subsequently ordered a bottle upon post completion. Now Zara has these sandals and I might just have to do the very same thing.

Maiyet "Kristy Strap Heel" - $795 at Barneys

Rick Owens "Women's Tube Clutch" - $229.39 at LN-CC
Buy it Here

Small miracles happen all of the time and one of the most recent is the relatively fresh launch of the Alexander McQueen e-commerce site. Let's all thank someone in the skies above for opening up access to all the plethora of eerie beauty that is Alexander McQueen.

I also have really been loving all of the latest pieces from Maiyet. The lines are architectural and clean but rich. Barneys has a good selection right now. These shoes are working really well with this dress, as they detract nothing from all of its details. The same goes for this coolest of clutches, a cube that probably won't even fit an iPhone in it.

RGB just came out with some new colors and if you haven't tried any of their polishes yet, start now. They are easily my fave, the colors last forever - even if you are rough on your nails, and the are three-free. This "Dew" color in particular is really fresh for spring.

Ann Demeulemeester "Slim Fit Leather Leggings" - $2,156 at Antonioli

Ann Demeulemeester "Ankle Boot" - $796 at Antonioli

Claw earrings. Yes, we have seen claws, a la Pamela Love et al., for a while now. But this kind of claw? Long, wiry, and clutching? This one is a little rawer and sicklier than the rest - all the more appealing to those of us with slightly darkish sensibilities. Thank you Ann Demeulemeester.

It only seems appropriate to honor these limbs in a shrine to the house that built them. AD's true style of off-kilter silk sewing is something to be treasured if you ever are blessed with owning a piece. I have one and nothing else like it exists. This jacket is no exception. Placed, then, over a simple white button down and paired with leather bottoms, the cleanness of the black and white leave no place for the claws to hide.

Do you like them darker than this?

Until next time,

Being a lover of all things visual, be it art, design, fashion, graphics, whatever, I couldn't help but go a little bit crazy over this intelligent animation of the house of Louis Vuitton.

Raw Talent

Surface To Air "Genna Round Neck Sweater" - On Sale for $148 at Les Nouvelles
Buy it Here

Raleigh Denim "Surry Raw Skinny" - $225 at Need Supply Co.
Buy it Here

Zara "Tufted Platform Court Shoe" - $79.90 at Zara
Buy it Here

Jacquie Aiche "Carnelian and Diamond Ring" - $3,150 at Roseark
Buy it Here

The thing my fashion mind has been craving lately is a really great pair of raw, or seemingly raw denim. The hard, dark, crisp freshness achieved in this clean look feels so necessary right now. Raw was a big, fast hit about six years ago and then kind of never left but no one ever really talked about it again. I am so glad Raleigh Denim has this pair out right now, as the cut of it is just as perfect as the flawless fabric. Pairing them with almost anything will work, though this sheer/striped combo (which happens to be on sale right now!) from Surface to Air seems perfect. Because it makes them not hipster. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but a cliched look would be easy to fall into if you don't watch out. Pumps add another level of sleek sexiness (I also imagine this look with a perfectly slicked back, clean ponytail). As for the ring, nothing really needs to be added, because it is so badass that it speaks for itself.

How raw would you want it?

Until next time,
The Gatherer

It's not like there aren't already hundreds of AW reviews. Mine can wait a bit longer. More pressing is the fact that these shoes exist, just in time for Spring. Pastel is usually something I can do without, but these robin's egg ankle-band pumps shouldn't really be ignored. They aren't sickly sweet to look at; in fact, they are just sick to look at. They have a sharper edge to them than most other cotton-candy-colored shoes out there. And they seem to call for an even lesser color as a partner. Enter the perfect ivory colored white lace dress. The description sounds horridly Victorian but the dress itself is not at all prudish! What better then to compliment sultry lace than handcuff bracelets. Oddly enough, this whole look appears at first glance to be just a really good look. But on closer inspection, the pieces all are subtly hints at possible bedroom raciness. Note the ankle-restraint-like pumps, the deep-cut lace dress (lace often being the key component in lingerie), and handcuffs for the wrists. So you are basically, in the most demure of ways, ready to be restrained. Or do the restraining.

Which is it?

Fun For Now

SCULLY Womens RED Black Horseshoe Rose Flower WESTERN Rodeo Snap Shirt XS S

Galliano Jeans - $185 at Yoox

Fendi "Multi-Colored Leather and Suede Sandals" - $695 at Saks
Buy it Here

Yes, I am QUITE behind on reviews. That is the very next post, I promise. But as a mention of one of the most recent shows: Isabel Marant has been buzzed about, not for a new concept but for a new way of carrying out a concept. We have been seeing the Native American and Old West inspired clothes for a few seasons now from multiple designers, and so this notion on its own certainly isn't an eye opener. But her take on Calamity Jane and the way in which the blouses, hip-slung bottoms, and other such thoughts were interpreted were done well enough to make us all still want that and covet it in a newish kind of way.

We can find enough right now to hold us over til Fall. Ebay is a good start for the top, as they have a ton of women's western shirts that are just right! Pair this one with old denim that is rolled up past the ankles and a tan pair of sandals and some kind of western happiness should come over you.

Aren't you excited?

Nevermind that plenty of us are currently obsessively watching every moment, every detail of every AW show, in which our eyes are feasting on pants, sweaters, jackets, socks, and everything else the is required for cold weather. These things we are drooling over are the very things that we are, as we speak, trying very hard to shed for Spring as we are currently sick of wearing them! Our legs are screaming for freedom (though some legs may not quite yet be ready to actually be seen in public) and yet we are coveting skirts layered over thick pants a la Rag & Bone AW12!! But fashion has always been a paradox and we will let it remain one, as that is what makes it the beautiful thing it is.

But my legs are really clamoring to be set free! And so One Teaspoon (of which I will probably NEVER stop gushing about) will always be my ticket to pant-free happiness. I really love this new Suno sweater, and it is just right with the cutoffs to transition in milder weather. The current selection of shoes at Zara right now is pretty amazing, and making a decision could be tricky. But the cream is such in in your face "who cares about waiting til May for white" that it really seems necessary. Ditto the bag, which actually matches the shoes perfectly. I was so anti-bag/shoe matching for the longest time and all of a sudden I think I like it again.

Are your legs ready for this?
