The 1944 movie "Arsenic and Lace" is worth a watch.
Worth a look, too, is a lot of what's out right now in lace. I am not always a lover of super girly things, meaning: frilly, pouffy, bows, pink, etc. And a lot of times that does include lace. But there is also something about this material that can be quite captivating. That might partly have to do with its lingering Victorian feel, which nowadays comes off as kind of haunting. Bone chilling even.
This dress might not exactly chill your bones with its shock of color, but it might still haunt you a bit at night. And I love the idea of adding lace cuffs as the accessory! These are killer.
It seemed overboard to carry that theme through to the feet, so I think lizard does a nice job of finishing the look.
