Don't give me things to do. If I must, I won't. They weigh me down and I cannot see or swim to the shore. Please don't tie me down!!! If I want to, I will, and that is the only kind of life I can hope for!

This Rebecca Minkoff dress seems so innocent and simple at first. Almost too girly for me. But upon spinning around, a world of wonder is unlocked. Detailed in a way that almost reminds me of a gathering technique that would be featured on something in the eighteenth century, albeit without the exposed back! Highlighting the back of the body instead of the front has been a popular little trick in fashion over the past few years. And was previous to that in other decades just a little while back. It probably won't ever quite go away because, even though it is now a little bit common, it is unexpected every time. Do you anticipate that, after having a five minute conversation with someone, they will turn around, walk away, and give you more pleasure in looking at their back than in speaking to them? Probably not!!

The shoes seem like such a nice fit with the dress, the overall style being rather sweet in a way but becoming even more interesting with the addition of a Dalmatian-like print! Add a gold cuff on each wrist to complete the look and perhaps people will rather have you stand on an elevated, revolving pedestal than anything else!

Leave the room well.

So not original. But I had to pilfer these shoes from BleachBlack. Couldn't help myself! Great find by them. I am really loving it with this dress that was pretty much made for them! Then, enter Bottega Veneta with a dynamite ostrich bag in a chartreuse to set the dress on fire. Some kind of sweetness must enhance this one step more (if that's even possible) and so Dannijo does the trick.

Give me some of that.

(Just bought this and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Update on my thoughts once it arrives.)

I did buy those Alexander Wang sandals. But I actually tried three pairs on by him and wanted them all!! At some point I may just have to really be a loser and buy a second pair. These boots here were rather divine, comfortable and wearable year round. So maybe. I love them with this screwy Helmut Lang skirt. And a top from Style Stalker that is good enough to wear. I like what they did with the jewelry on the SS website, though am not sure what brand they used to style that. The only one I know with similar pieces that could help to pull off the same effect is Bliss Lau. So here are a few pieces by them that could just finish it all better than a cherry on top.

Who likes those cherries anyways? Or even the whipped cream for that matter? Who even eats sundaes anymore?

Literally. But, could you make it very far in these? Well perhaps if the trail were incredibly well groomed. Perhaps paved, even. Do they pave the trails in the Appalachians? No? Oh, too bad. Well then I guess these just have to be worn on the urban hiking trails that we call sidewalks. The terrain is probably better anyways.

But I really am totally loving these boots. I mean, I know that I have said before that I really don't know about the J.C. Litas. And I still don't. And these are pretty much the same style, but with a new campy (ha) twist. For some reason though, these just look a hell of a lot better. Not so awkward or something. It seems that the best pairing with them would be a great pair of cutoff shorts that help elongate the legs to an even greater degree than the shoes already do. Sticking with perhaps too much of a theme, a Steven Alan shirt seems appropriate.

Finally, an Alexander McQueen ring. For one main reason really. If you have not been to the McQueen exhibit at The Met in NYC, put it on your list. Never before have I been so moved when viewing any exhibit anywhere. That includes some very major works by great artists like Van Gogh, Michelangelo, etc. Stunning, sad, eering, inspiring. All put to sound. I do hope that if you do not live in the NY area, your travels plans take you there before July 31st.

Traveling on.

Phinally

Alexander Wang "Tempest" Sandal - $650 at Barneys
Buy it Here

Just like PHAT, I PHINALLY bought the A.W. shoes I have been coveting for pretty much all my life (real time - eight months) on a trip to New York last week. No details yet on the trip, as the project was pretty much top secret. But, in other departments, the word on the street is that these shoes are not half bad. I wore them to my brother's grad school graduation ceremony and could not have been more in love. Plus, they were incredibly comfortable to wear. Only word of advice, if you are thinking of buying these - they take at least five minutes to put on.

I can't help it. I love these pics. This was only my second time ever wearing red lipstick.
