Who else writes everything down in a little black book they always keep close by their side? Thoughts, phone numbers, addresses, likes, dislikes, sketches, life. I know that I'm not the only one who does that. And how would you feel if you lost it? Devastated. Such is the way I feel after leaving mine in the back of a cab in NY this past weekend. For two days I felt lonely and naked. And sad that someone else had this little piece of me that couldn't possibly mean anything to them. Bereft.
Life moves on and I am already ten pages into a new little black book. My memory is bad and those old thoughts are lost forever. But these, I hope, will stay. I even filled out the front page (which was of course always glossed over in the past) which offers information on where to send it in case it is ever lost. My mom even said to leave stamps in with it to ensure someone really sends it!!
To forget, even for just a moment, that this tragedy has occurred, let's look a quality product from Kurt Geiger. These shoes are so dead on. Plus, not expensive at all. I have never owned a pair of KGs before, so I have no idea if they are even comfortable or not. But this is a definite instance in which some comfort can easily be sacrificed for fashion. Got to love being a martyr. The jacket seems to go perfect with the vibe of the shoes, as does the top (why is Olivier so damn good?). And the jeans are just right, coming in more on the calf and ankle to really lean out the look of the heels. The exact opposite of a frumpy BF jean-look. The finishing touch is polish from the deep.
So sad. Not glad. Even a bit mad.
Until next time,
The Gatherer
