In the land of blog, two weeks without a post is...death? No, more like extended unconsciousness akin to a coma. So, these typing fingers have been idle for two weeks, partially due to Arizona travels and partially due to being busy at their other job of paper sculpting! But, focusing on Arizona for a moment...
Visiting Scottsdale again, after having lived there for three years, I realized something this time that existed there before but never captured my attention. I saw that the planning and design of the city was completely harmonious within itself and amongst its natural surroundings. Every bit of architecture, every street corner seemed as if it could have been created by the same mind and yet everything had its own unique identity to distinguish it from the place next door. It didn't feel like Disney World, with obviously created sets. It felt more like a designers Eden, with verdant offerings that all loved one another.
Inspired, I felt this weird urge to buy a piece of Native American turquoise jewelry. I don't know why - I never shopped at any of the little silver stores in Old Town Scottsdale when I lived there before. But I had to go in! And am so glad I did because I was rewarded with wonderful offerings that I brought home with me and will never forget how their attainment came about.
I feel the need to bring you a little piece of some of that west that I found. Stack these cuffs (I am thinking two on one wrist and one on the other) for a look that is going to work just as well with no clothes on at all as it will with the rest of this look. Speaking of, there is just something about a muted grey/neutral palate and deep green/blue that seems so fresh. A color combination that seems a breath of fresh air.
Life has been restored, in my mind, in my fingers, in my heart. Enjoy.
Until next time,
