Spring Sheering

Lucas Nascimento "Sheer Degrade Dress" - Approx. $1,727 at LN-CC

Miu Miu "Mary Jane Peep Toe Platform" - $690 at Barneys

Anndra Neen "Melted Geometric Cuff" - On Sale for $304 at TenOverSix

Anndra Neen "Mirror and Pin Cuff" - $485 at L-Attitude

The spring and summer bring the shedding of our winter coats.  Below those thick layers lie thin layers that do not disguise our true forms with their bulk, nor do they weigh us down.  We can celebrate the freedom of feeling light.  We can move again!  Our arms and legs are bare!!
Just as sheep have their wool sheared in the spring, we "shear" our wool (coats) too, and opt for...sheers!
Can you imagine a better version than this Lucas Nascimento piece?  I just love the degrade down towards the bottom.  And it comes with the slip no worries on shearing for an impossible to find navy one.
Some yellow down on the toes really has the perfect contrast to the deep blue.  Navy and yellow are such a great complimentary pairing.  And I love silver with those two as the jewelry color choice.

Have you "sheared" yet? Have you sheered?

An Entrance (Or Exit)

via YouTube

Helmut Lang "Transparent Pullover" - $335 at Forward by Elyse Walker

A.L.C. "Tweed Wrap Skirt" - On Sale for $139 at Barneys

Anna Sheffield "Attelage Marquis Garnet Ring" - $2,875 at Bona Drag

Nicholas Kirkwood "Peter Pilotto Tie Sandal" - $1,295 at Kirna Zabete

Go no further if you aren't fully versed in Seinfeld lore.

You are? Ok, perfect.  Remember the episode when George wants to make an "entrance" at the ball?  And by the end of it the "entrance" is really a "back-trance" with a twirl?  Kramer bares some skin on the backside for total jaw-dropping effect.  If you want to pull off a similarly amazing look from behind, search no further.  Helmut Lang has you covered (or, rather, not covered) in this sheer top that can be actually be worn on days other than those in which you attend a ball (which is pretty often, though, right?)  Loving it with this patterned A.L.C. skirt.  And I think some heeled sandals that are equally as skin-showing are totally worth it.  And reveal a little more with Anna Sheffield's PERFECT ring - look at what is revealed in between these lines as well.  This ring would look badass if you had some finger tats.

Print and Grime

Zara "Printed Dress with Asymmetric Hem" - $79.90 at Zara

Maiyet "Ankle Cuff Sandal" - $695 at Barneys

Acne "Scale Black" - $700 at Acne

Vim Beget "Merus Gradient Bracelet" - $165 at Vim Beget

Sometimes color can stand out so much more brilliantly against opposing shadows and surrounding blackness.  Like after it rains and the tree trunks and the earth are so saturated they look black, and all of the foliage looks all the more brilliantly green.
I just love this Zara dress that it is out now.  The print is great, kind of muted but still very saturated, and it has so many options as far as how you can wear it.  Today will kind of play on the idea of black surrounding the dress to make the print stand out all the more.  Maiyet had a pretty simple pair of sandals that seem like just a good all around pair to always have around.  And I totally stumbled upon this Acne bag, but now am obsessed.  I love the lines of it.

Do you like when blackness creep in upon the edges?

Metal To The Petal

Prabal Gurung "Asymmetrical Floral Print Dress" - $2,350 at Kirna Zabete

Zara "Studded Sandals" - $99.90 at Zara

Workhorse "Evangeline" - $484 at Workhorse

Just espied this Prabal Gurung dress and cannot look away.  Mesmerized by the colors, the patterns, and, most of all, the the asymmetry.  A true treat and wonder for the eyes.  And a new summer obsession.
You actually go barefoot in this one and it would complete the look.  But, walking on pavement and going to meetings in bare feet really isn't a normal option for many. So, enter another killer pair of Zara heels.  Have you seen their lookbook lately (and by lately I mean always)?  They never miss.  These ones in particular are such a great balance to the dress too, to kind of weigh down the lightness of it (figuratively).
Lastly, I am obsessed lately with heavy, chunky, silver id bracelets.  This one by Workhorse is easily my favorite right now.  LOVE their grungy Victorian-inspired silver goods. (I have one piece by them so far, though layering them seems the way to go, and will post it a bit later on Instagram)

Don't Make Me Lose It

"Amore Silk Dress" - $109 at Pixie Market

Giuseppe Zanotti Sandals - $1,250 at Giuseppe Zanotti

Lena Wald "Safety Pin Earring in Yellow Gold" - $295 (each)

FIVE and TWO "Titanium Quartz and Oxidized Sterling" Cuff - $55 on Etsy

There is a site that, with so many other places to browse and shop from, I sadly often overlook.  But, every time I remember, I go back and am always delighted in their selection.  That place is Pixie Market.  Love their style and cannot complain at all about their prices.
The print playing on this dress is great because of the way it is not just one tiny little image replayed over and over again.  It jars your ears when you hear the same thing over and over again.  Doesn't it do that to your eyes, too?  It does to mine.
I paired it with some brand-y new Giuseppe Zanottis that almost look like super-hero armored heels.
A little punk on the ears alters this whole look enough to give it the edge I always need.  Sweet things that aren't food give me a stomachache.  Safety pin earrings (which do go through your ears like the '90's ACTUAL safety pin earrings) are perfect, and not at all too much. Plus a strangely awesome bit of oxidized metal on the arm because those half-sleeves just scream for a cuff.

How sweet do you like it?

Tough Casual

Something Else "Warp Flower Muscle Tank" - $81 at Bona Drag

Acne "Skin 5 Pocket Jean" - $220 at Otte NY

Chloe "Susanna" Boot - $1,345 at Net-A-Porter

Unearthen "Phynix Lepidicrocite Cuff" - $478 at Bona Drag

I am not yet done with being obsessed over Chloe's little ankle boots that are out right now.  They come in few colors but black is just too hard to deny.
These are going to look great any way you wear them (just showed them off in the previous post), but perhaps this time just going right along with their slightly rock vibe is the best way to go.  And nothing says "rock" better than some tight-ass jeans and a cropped t-shirt!  Add a piece of big grungy jewelry and you are all set for a day at Coachella!
